What is component integration testing?

Component integration testing is a testing method which is performed to expose defects in the interfaces and interaction between integrated components.It tests the interactions between software components and is done after component testing.

In most of the cases it possible that different components are specified at different times by different group yet the integration of all modules should work properly as intended.

In component integration testing it is expected to cover all scenarios and make sure negative cases are tested as well as there is a possibility that component can make assumption with respect to the data.
